Well hello there blog, haven't seen you in awhile! Just a few tidbits until I can get some of our recent photos uploaded.
Can't believe we now have a 2 1/2 year old AND a 9-month old. Wow. Loving every minute with our two sweeties! We feel like the luckiest Mommy and Daddy in the world to have been blessed with Piper and Boone. May they always know that we love them to the ends of the earth and back...and then a little more!
We've been continuing with our weekly trips to the library and Piper continues to work towards maxing out our library card limit. I've had to start bringing a bag with a reinforced bottom to carry our load out the car! We got 18 books earlier in the week (and found out our limit is 20) and she's been having fun reading them all. Important to note, we checked out 18 books and had to put almost double that back! She also had me pick her up when we got to the check out counter and she very carefully watched the librarian scan each book and load it into our loot bag. So we'll keep going as long as she's having this much fun. I also got a few books for myself, as I'd exhausted my nighttime reading stash. So I'm also enjoying the fruits of our weekly excursion as well.
Piper and I also made our first batch of Mommy/Daughter chocolate chip cookies this week. She loves to help me make things in the kitchen and measuring cups are her specialty. She's the designated "ingredient dumper" and "mixer". She managed to taste each of the raw ingredients, including the flour and salt, afterwhich she made an emergency plea for her sippy cup full of milk. She plugged her ears during the mixing, exclaiming that the electric mixer was "jus too loud Mommy!". After we had mixed the butter, eggs and sugar, she took a look into the bowl and after examining the contents told me, "Mommy, I want sucker instead!". However, she changed her tune when it was time to add the chocolate chips and she perched herself in front of the oven window to watch the cookies bake and enjoyed the cookies warm out of the oven.
Boone is enjoying feeding himself, mostly puffs these days, those little hands of his are very busy. He's been teething for what feels like months now, with no signs of any teeth yet, so we gave him some biter biscuits to try this week. He grabbed the first one we gave him like he'd had dozens before and proceeded to cover himself in sticky, gooey, biscuit delight, while thoroughly enjoying himself. He cried when it was all gone, so we gave him another which he devoured just as quickly. He's getting more and more steady while sitting in his baby tub at night, so we're that much closer to our two sweeties taking their baths together-how fun!
He has also mastered the art of rolling towards whatever it is he wants. He can cross a room in a matter of minutes and get his hands on whatever the object of desire might be.
The weekend is finally here and hopefully I can post the latest shots of Pip and Boone very soon.
