Gerald Andrew "Gerry" Hitch, Sr., 53, of Indian Head, died August 11, 2009, in Baltimore.

Mr. Hitch was owner of Gerry's Pizza and Subs in Indian Head. His hobbies were bass fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the Redskins, Orioles and NASCAR on TV. He was a Jeff Gordon fan. He was passionate about his association with the graft versus host disease support group.

Born April 5, 1956, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late William Elton Hitch, Sr. and Mary Margaret Hitch.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Wanda Speake Hitch; siblings, Sharon Conley, Rae Ann Coburn and Billy Hitch; daughter, Heather Hitch Bryan; son, Gerald Andrew "Ger" Hitch II; daughter-in-law, Angela Hitch; son-in-law, Davis Bryan; and grandchildren, Piper Hitch, Boone Hitch and Jackson Bryan.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Aug 14 at Williams Funeral Home, Indian Head. Mass will be celebrated at noon Aug 15 at St Mary, Star of the Sea. Burial will take place at St Charles Cemetary, Glymont.

Pallbearers will be Joe Martin, Tim Boyd, Wendell Lee, Ray Lee, Hunter Lee and Richard Bladen.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
