Happy Easter!

We had quite an eventful Easter weekend this year. Ger and I were both able to take Friday off, and it was wonderful to have the extra family day together (the weekends are just too short these days).

So, we kicked off the weekend with a visit to the Easter Bunny. Before you scroll down and see this picture, a little background. We waited until really late this year to start hunting for somewhere to have a picture with the Easter bunny. But in the past, all the area malls always have the Easter Bunny, so I thought "no worries". Well to my surprise the two places we've been in the past for pictures (Santa or Easter Bunny) were both not having it this year. What??!! And the only other place I could find, another mall, is over an hour from our house, which seemed a bit far. So I ended up calling the trusty ole local Wal-Mart and what do you know they were having pictures on Saturday and Sunday. At the time I thought it was a bit odd they weren't going to be in their portrait studio, but somehow shrugged that off...more on that later.

So we arrive at Wal-Mart at the appointed time, and find out the Easter Bunny will be appearing in the middle of the front of the store, oh, and he's running late. So we wait. We'd been telling Piper she was going to have her picture made with the Easter bunny and she was very excited. When he finally showed up, her excitement continued, but the closer we got to him the stronger her grip got on Ger's hand. She finally stopped completely and said, "I no sit in Easer bunny lap". And no matter how much coaxing and talking to her we did, we couldn't get her to change her mind. Oh, and somewhere inbetween, a woman from the Optical shop and a "regular shopper" also both took their turns at trying to convince her. No go with either of them as well. Therefore, the picture this year is her hanging on to me for dear life on one side of the Easter Bunny, while Ger and Boone join the ranks on the other side.

A couple of side notes:

Check out the nice shot of the rafters of the building at the top of the picture...nice!

Oh, and by the way, this picture has been brought to you by 7Up, Snapple, Pepperidge Farm, Goldfish, Airwick and Lysol. Nothing like a little gratiutous advertising on the bottom of your Wal-Mart Easter Bunny picture.

Like I said, classic!

Dude, I totally sympathize with Piper. The Easter Bunny (and anyone in a costume that covers their face, and clowns) are totally creepy. I wouldn't have sat on his/her lap either. Your kid's smart!

We got our Easter Bunny picture at Walmart too!! I wanted to cut off the logos at the bottom but Tommy convinced me they are part of the fun of it. Too funny!!
